“Some of us don't want to be tough alpha leaders, some of us just want to write and wander the garden, breathe in the sky, nourish and nurture and quietly create new pathways, living our lives as our art.
To know the earth as poetry.”

Iva Enright - Founder & Visionary for Dreaming Horse Ranch
Iva Enright is a medicine woman, certified coach, filmmaker, photographer, and writer who helps people remember their innate radiance and reclaim their sovereignty.
In 2008, lost and searching, Iva made a plea to the universe for help. The answer came in the form of Peru. She and her son were invited to film the never-before-filmed sacred ceremonies (karpays) of the Q'ero people of the high Andes, creating the award-winning documentary The Road to Q'ero: A Journey Home.
During that journey—four days on horseback at 16,000 feet—Iva received something unexpected: the karpays themselves. She was initiated as a paqo, a Q'ero medicine woman. Her teacher told her: "Now you have the blood of the Inca." Those teachings—particularly ayni (sacred reciprocity) and pachakuti (the great turning)—became the foundation of her life's work and her TEDx talk, When You Say Yes to Life.
Iva has been working with horses as conscious co-facilitators since 2013. She holds a Master's degree in Equine Assisted Learning and is certified in Coaching with Horses. She is an EME (Emotion Mind Energy) Certified Integration Practitioner and a Certified HeartMath Practitioner. Her approach weaves together shamanic wisdom, energy healing, somatic practices, and the profound teachings of the Dreaming Herd.
As a writer, Iva's work has been published in Shaman Heart: Turning Pain Into Passion and Purpose (Amazon Best Seller), where her chapter "Bella the Intrepid: How a Rescue Pony Rescued Me" shares the story of her profound 17-year relationship with Bella, the horse who taught her that "we are all one spirit." Her photography and writing have also been featured in Joyce Tenneson's The View Project.
Iva is currently writing her first book, Becoming Your Song, about remembering our divine spark and living from the heart, not the mind or ego.
Dreaming Horse Ranch, nestled in the Hudson Valley near Chatham, New York, is becoming a non-profit to ensure this healing work is accessible to all who feel called—regardless of gender, ethnicity, or economic circumstances. Because healing is a birthright, not a privilege.
Buddy
I am a protector. I am playful and curious, though a little reserved at first. I slowly gain trust in those around me. Sit with me and see that within you that seeks to explore as your inner child once did.
Miss Bella
Iva and I had many adventures together. We even traveled the world together. Now I am on the other side of the rainbow bridge and I guide sessions and share my wisdom even more clearly.
Gus
I am curious, kind and love to challenge my mind when I am bored. My exploring and inquisitive nature can come across as a little naughty, but it encourages others to wield deeper patience and understanding for other beings. You will often find me nestled in the trees with my posse of donkeys and my lady friends.
DD the Donkey
Hi, I am DD - short for Debbie the Donkey. I am a saucy, friendly, forward leader. I am a mix of boundaries and fun - balance and order with a little bit of pizzazz.
Yellow Bird
Alert and observing, I am incredibly sensitive to energies. My trust and respect is something that must be earned. Do you fully trust and respect yourself? I now know I am home here at The Dreaming Horse Ranch.
Olivia
I am sweet and quiet. I often take the backstage seat but truly long to be a part of things. I slowly find my way to trust and touch. I find security with my son, Newton, and our friend, Debbie.
Lila
It has taken a long time for me to find my way, but I have come to find peace and balance within myself and that around me. It may take me some time to fully show you who I am, but when I do, you’ll see the balance and peace within you too.
Luca
I am still learning the ropes at Dreaming Horse Ranch. I am silly and love affection. I sometimes channel Tigger-like energy, bouncing and pouncing, running and playing. On any given day you will see me having long conversations with my donkey friends.
Kitties
We are shy and quick and play hide-and-seek. Sometimes you see us, sometimes you don’t. When you do, though, you’ll see our sweetness shining through.
